how we came to adopt miss eve

eve came to us when she was just 3 months old. jamal's sister had gotten her for a valentine's day present. of course, the aprtment she lived in would not allow pets (a cat, maybe you could get away with, a pit bull, i don't think so!). so, miss eve came to live with us. that dog has more personality than most people. i swear that she is either 1/2 person or was a human in her past life. she takes up more space on the bed that i do, she has her own couch and she stomps her feet at you when she wants something. she listens too. she loves to be talked to and will tilt her head at an angle when you actually have somehting important to say. otherwise, she just huffs and turns away. she is not a very good guard dog though, a landlord at our last house came in unannounced she not only DIDN'T bark but she ran in a corner and peed on the floor. not a very good method to keep strangers out.

why morpheus is known as the "doof"

we got mr. morpehus from the cheyenne animal shelter in late january. he had been turned in by his previous owner for no apparent reason other than he is a BIG puppy. he can cause a lot of damage. he weighs about 80 pounds and has trouble controlling his body. it never fails, everytime he runs down the stairs he hits the hardwood floor and runs straight into the wall. you would think he would learn after the 50th time or so, but no. he is a clutz! he falls off of everything, the bed, the couch, the patio. he is so sweet though. pound dogs know when you save their life. i really beleive that. he has many nicknames now, "dorpheus" is one on my personal favorites. he doesn't care. he loves it.

want to go for a ride?

this morning we had to take our truck in to the shop. mr. morpeus stays outside and miss evie stays inside. this morning we decided to take miss evie for a ride because she never gets to go now that we have morpehus (he sheds too much). i think it has been about 4 months since she went for a ride but she knew EXACTLY what i was talking about. she started spinning in circles and jumping all over Jamal (my boyfriend) while he was tring to get his shoes on. it is so wonderful how the littlest thing can be so exciting for a dog.
